This creates a nice little mixup between the recovering player and the edgeguarder. This point could change as more and more techs get found in ultimate.

I guess that's subjective too but melee has been out for a long time and a lot of the discovered techniques have become mandatory in regular gameplay, like l-cancel, wavelanding and ledgedashing, with a lot more laying around for the more dedicated player, like pivotcanceling or a bunch of characterspecific tech.

I guess this point is kinda subjective, but in general characters move faster, characters fall faster and stocks get taken faster, so I'd say it's a faster game. However in melee, there are still more true combos, which leaves the opponent with nothing but di-mixups to get out of them. There are true combos and you can keep up the pressure even if it is not a true combo, that applies to both games. You have to input your moves frame-perfect or else they will either come out late or not at all. So because here are mainly ppl just ranting over why one of these games is amazing, let me give you a quick rundown of the actual differences. If they buff charizard though or if joker is sick I'll reconsider, but right now it's just fun for me to play with melee and non-melee friends, which is what I wanted from 4. Edge guarding and dash dancing make me hesitant to enjoy playing it seriously though. I find ultimate's punish game good enough to be fun for a melee player. Again, not a bad thing necessarily since it forces more ground game interactions, but I love that short hop aerials are part of a more nuanced ground game in melee. I think they main thing I dislike is how aerial momentum works and a lot of hitboxeses in ultimate are made to low profile really easily, so short hop aerials are hard or impossible to land on some characters. Recovery is also super easy from below where it's hard to edge guard, so people live longer and can get marthritis really easily until a random dash attack kills. They also slightly simplified DI in Ultimate in the most annoying way, it just makes me Di wrong in both games now when I switch between them. Again, not a bad thing but not what made melee special.

Some of the flashiest combos in ultimate are more like a traditional fighter with tight timing but kinda bnb, and less like melee free form combos. I swear I'd play any single player games if they had melee movement.Ī lot of characters in ultimate were made more consistent to certain standards, so everyone is a lot more viable at mid level, but that also eliminates some creativity in the combos that melee had. Not a bad thing per se, movement in ultimate is a lot more committal which is more akin to a traditional fighter, but melee's movement is addicting. The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall, opens in theaters nationwide on May 26, 2023.Ultimate is actually p aggressive, but it doesn't have melees movement. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric.
